For example, as often happens: the game seems to be running at over 60 FPS (which is completely normal), but freezes and lags occur from time to time – the screen image is shaking – and this makes the game extremely uncomfortable!

Also, it doesn’t always happen because of an outdated computer – you can also experience something similar on a relatively powerful new device. one degree or another) other people.

In fact, I’m going to give some tips on what you need to pay attention to in this note. Recommended to all toy lovers. 👌

If your game is slowing down due to low FPS (usually below 30-35) I recommend reading this note.

The same article will deal with the question of micro-freezes, when it is not about the number of FPS (i.e. this setting is at a comfortable 45-60+ fps (for this game)).

The bottom line here is that the type of mouse you’re using (keyboard, joystick, etc.) determines how fast your character responds in-game (because your click must first be processed by the mouse (for example) – -> then send a signal to the computer –> and only after it appears on the screen The time between the start and the end of this action is called input lag).

If he speaks averagely, then the response of wired mouse <1 ms (millisecond), y wireless 5-15ms! Those. when using wired devices, you can gain about 10ms!

It seems that this value is ridiculous, however, in some dynamic games (for example, CS) – the difference is in the same ping 30-60ms – is already strongly felt! (and add to that: incorrect mouse, keyboard, video card settings, monitor, etc. – in total, the difference is milliseconds. God forbid…)

Relevant for online games.

The key parameter of all online games, which directly affects the speed of your order (the ping is the time your PC takes to send a “data” to another PC and to receive a response from it). That is, roughly speaking, first there is “delay in the form of input lag (mouse/keyboard, etc.) – then another is added to it ping.

How to reduce it:

  1. use the 👉 high-speed internet connection (wired only!). This can reduce the ping by several times (by tens and hundreds of milliseconds!);
  2. it is advisable to refuse to use a router (and other “intermediate” devices between the provider’s Internet cable and your PC). If you are still playing over Wi-Fi – 👉 I recommend reading this manual;
  3. during the game, disable torrents, close browsers (downloads) and other software that can load the network;

About video card settings

In the relatively new video cards from AMD and Nvidia, a special appeared. a setting that allows you to reduce the time it takes to transfer images from the time they are processed until they are displayed on screen (which significantly reduces the speed of response to button presses!). Fault – this option is disabled!

What do you call this:

  • AMD has Radeon Anti-Lag;
  • Nvidia has a low latency mode.

What does it give: pay attention to the photo below 👇 – the character’s response time, after pressing the buttons, is 10-20 ms less! Which, in general, is not bad, considering that it is enough to move the flag in the graphics card settings.

A few words about the monitor

Watch out for monitor conflicts!

In my opinion, today a monitor for games should be taken with a response time of 1-2ms + with a refresh rate of 120Hz + with technological support G-sync. All of this together will save you ≈5 to 50 milliseconds (which will positively affect results in online battles!).

And the image itself in dynamic scenes will be smoother, without “pauses” and distortions.

About Discs

👉 tip one: Install both the system itself and the game on an SSD. This will greatly increase the speed of reading data from the disc. See screenshot below 👇 (bottom line is “4k” – if you are comparing HDD and SSD – then the difference is 10 times!).

To note: “4k” – read/write speed of 4k random blocks. More than 70% of operations when working on Windows are small files, which means that the performance of many applications (games) is highly dependent on this speed .

👉 tip two: check the state of your disk (on which the system and the game are installed), in particular its behavior under load: does the reading speed drop to zero?! You can do this with the help of a test in “Victoria” (deal for 5 minutes!).
