instagram listened to the demands of its millions of users and finally restored one of its most anticipated features: to be able to see the publications in the food in chronological order. To date, the social network already allows us to select what we prefer to see on our main page, and how.
As Instagram explains, users will be able to choose between two options for viewing posts: Following and favorites. When selecting the first, posts from accounts that follow will be displayed in the order in which they were posted. While the second will allow you to view photos and videos from accounts marked as favorite first.
Switching between the two sections is really quite simple. Users should only tap “Instagram”, in the upper-left corner of the screen, and then choose one of the available options. According to the announcement, this new option is now available to all users; however, keep in mind that it might take a few hours to reach the entire audience.
“We’re always working on new ways to improve your Instagram experience. We’ll continue to build features like favorites and follows to give you more choice and control over what you see, and help make the time that you spend on the app more enjoyable. intentional,” he said. Instagram manager Adam Mosseri.
Instagram returns to timeline feed
Without a doubt, Instagram’s return to the timeline feed is great news. In fact, this possibility had been mentioned since the beginning of the year, even if the formalization of its arrival to the public was lacking. Anyway, keep in mind that you probably still see things you don’t like on the social network’s main screen.
While the new Following section will show posts from accounts you follow, based on the date of each post, Mosseri said there will always be “suggested posts” based on your interests. Or, which is the same as saying that you will continue to see photos, videos, or reels from accounts that you don’t follow, but that Instagram thinks might catch your eye.
This is clearly something that will not appeal to all users. After all, the main criticisms leveled at the food of Instagram in recent years lies precisely in this; that is, people were increasingly encountering posts from people they didn’t know, rather than those they were following.
Nonetheless, it’s worth noting that Instagram has resumed allowing posts to appear in the order in which they were posted. Surely what the social network offers is not perfect, But it’s better than nothing.
The other aspect to consider is the operation of the section favorites. As explained, users will be able to create a list of up to 50 favorite accounts, and anything posted there will appear with greater prominence in that section. As in Follow, the content will appear in chronological order.
The list is editable, so you can remove and add accounts with no problem; and since elections are private, other people will not be notified when they are marked as favorites. In addition, posts “promoted” by this section will be identifiable because they will include a star, as is already the case on Facebook.
