Pokémon Legends Arceus wasn’t the first work in the franchise where you could hear the word ‘Hisui’

Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Pokemon Legends Arceus

Pokemon Legends Arceus is one of the franchise’s most groundbreaking games. It was a big change in the way of capturing and visiting the Pokémon world, and taught us many aspects related to its history through the ancient Hisui region. This region is what we now know as Sinnoh and although many are unaware of it, its name had been used in the past.

While all Pokémon fans associate Hisui’s name with the region revealed to us in Pokémon Arceus Legends, this isn’t the first time the name has appeared in the franchise. It was in the year 2018 that we were able to meet a character from the movie “The power of all” with this name, something that could have gone unnoticed once translated into other languages.

The first time the word Hisui came to Pokémon

In the original movie version “The Power of All”, we meet Hisui, an elderly lady who wears a huge purple hat on her head. this name only is preserved in the Japanese version, for in Spain he ended up being called Enriqueta, while in Latin America he was called Harriet.

Although for many people Hisui’s name has gone completely unnoticed, given the dates many believe that could be a nod to Pokémon Legends Arceus. This movie was released at the end of 2018 and it was 3 years after the release of the game. No one has been mentioned yet to confirm it, but it is still quite curious.

This isn’t the first time Pokémon has included nods to new installments and even other licenses. One of the most curious examples is the wink dedicated to Dragon Ball, in which in Pokémon Red and Blue there is talk of a naime where a boy with a monkey tail appears.
