Samsung has filed patents with the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) for a rollable transparent screen terminal.
After spending a decade developing foldable screens, Samsung finally saw its efforts rewarded in 2021, when it dominated the foldable device market, with a 90% market share, thanks to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3.
But, the Korean giant does not stop develop new and innovative technologies for new devices and good proof of this is that, as we can read in the specialized media SamMobile, Samsung is preparing a transparent mobile that rolls up.
It would be Samsung’s rollable and transparent mobile
Samsung recently filed patents with WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) of a terminal with roll-up transparent screen.
As you can see from the sketches of these patents, which we leave you below, the Korean manufacturer is working on two designs for this mobile, one in which the roll-up panel comes out from the side and another on the east unfolds vertically.
On both devices, the part of the screen that is displayed is transparenta feature that could allow use these terminals with AR applications (Augmented Reality).
At the moment it is only a sketch and there is no data, at least for the moment, which guarantees that this type of transparent roll-up mobile materializes into a real device. In the event that this new type of mobile is manufactured, Samsung should resume manufacture of transparent OLED panelswhich had not been done since 2016.
Moreover, other recent leaks also reveal that Samsung may be working on a third foldable device that would launch with the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 in the August unboxingbut it wouldn’t have that new transparent, roll-up screen technology.
