‘Switch to Android’, Google’s new app to migrate from an iPhone

Google wants to make it easier for users migrating from an iPhone and that’s why he launched his app Switch to Android. The new app allows you to move important data such as photos, videos or contacts to a new smartphone. Just follow a series of simple steps and additional tips to make your transfer a success.

Switch to Android is Google’s answer to Transfer to iOS, an Apple application with the same functions but working backwards. Prior to its launch, the migration process involved downloading Google Drive on iOS to back up information and access it later from Android.

With Switch to Android Google wants to make things easier by using an intuitive process.. When opening the app, the first thing we have to do is scan a QR code that you get from your new smartphone. With that your contacts, your calendar events and all your photos or videos will be backed up that you have in internal storage.

Here are the steps to follow to turn off iMessage and request a copy of your photos in iCloud. This service is available for iPhone users in over 240 countries and allows you to transfer your collection to Google Photos. When running the processApple sends content to the other service in three to seven days. All you need is a Google account and enough cloud storage space.

Although this is an important application, Google has not made an official announcement and the only way to access it is by using a direct link. As of this writing, the app does not appear in search results using the terms “Switch to Android” or “Switch to Android” in the App Store. The first result is a Google Chrome ad followed by the app Content Transfer+.
