Silent Hill: Downpour

Silent Hill: Downpour

Many fans are waiting for the arrival of a new game of silent Hill. Konami’s horror saga continues without news since March 2012, when the franchise’s eighth title was released, Silent Hill: Downpour. Since then, there have been many rumors about a new opus, but Konami has never mentioned it.

Konami has renewed the Silent Hill brand

Every time Konami announces a company event, all his followers are hoping that there will be news related to a new episode of Silent Hill. After the rumors of the past few months, we have learned from Reddit that Konami renewed the trademark franchise with the Japanese Patent Office. This doesn’t necessarily mean they’re working on a new title in the saga, but speculation is inevitable.

The Japanese company not only updated the Silent Hill brand, but also did the same with other titles such as Gradius, Frogger or Tokimeki Memorial. Something that caught the attention of fans of the franchise is that the rebranding mentions things like “gaming software” and “virtual reality devices”, which could indicate a leap from Silent Hill to virtual reality. That wouldn’t be surprising, since many horror sagas like resident Evil They chose to go this route.

Although there are rumors of a possible reboot of play station or a new version developed by Bloober-Team, the rebranding process is something routine in the world of video games and that does not mean that there will be news of the saga soon. After several false illusions such as the announcement of the title which was to be produced by Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro, it will be necessary to wait for Konami to officially decide on a new opus.
