DJI, a leading company in the field of drones, presented a new business solution that can be managed remotely thanks to a standalone docking and charging station that opens the door to a large number of uses. The brand cites a few examples: security agencies, infrastructure inspectors, etc.
The first step in this solution is the drone DJI Matrix 30that works hand in hand with fleet management software DJI Flight Hub 2 and the DJI docking station. This drone has a fairly small footprint, several high-performance sensors, an all-new remote control, and the Pilot 2 interface. It’s also tougher and more powerful.
The DJI M30 will be sold in two versions. The most basic has a 48-megapixel camera that allows optical zoom between 5X and 16X, a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera, is capable of recording 4K video at 30 FPS, and has a laser rangefinder that can give coordinates of objects up to 1200 meters. The M30T series shares these features but also features a 640 x 512 pixel radiometric thermal camera.
Both drones are resistant to water, high winds and even supports 4G connection for environments that need it. The batteries allow a flight of 41 minutes, but the best thing is that the BS30 smart chargers allow you to go from 20% to 90% in 30 minutes.
To maintain safety – important in professional environments – DJI has also implemented the ability to update machines offline, in addition to allowing them to work completely offline. That is to say that the data captured by the drone must at no time pass through external servers. The icing on the cake is also the SD card encryption, which adds an extra layer of security to the information captured by the drone.
Another step in this proposal is the FlightHub 2 platform, which allows manage fleets in a very useful way for the business environment. This one is cloud-based, it allows managing the flight mission, visualizing the operation even remotely, creating information-rich maps, etc.
The third part of the proposal is DJI docking station, an autonomous landing and charging base that allows drones to be piloted remotely without any fear. It weighs 90 kg and occupies less than 1 square km. All it takes is an electrical outlet and an internet connection. This one, in addition, has integrated antennas, a weather station and surveillance cameras. The idea is to locate it at points of interest without worrying that anything will happen to it.
Thanks to the fast charging and battery cooling system, the drone only has to be paused in the aforementioned base for 25 minutes to start again.
DJI’s New Products for Business are already available in the brand’s catalog, although in the case of the dock it will not be available for free until the last quarter of this year. Prices have not been revealed, as is customary in this type of commercial solutions.
